Peter Scott Markovich, long time native of the San Bernardino Mountain Communities will declare his candidacy for the State 33rd Assembly District on August 25th at a private gathering to be held at Artisans Etc., an art gallery in Big Bear. The gala begins at 5 pm. Please RSVP to the contact below.
“I am pleased to announce my candidacy to represent the citizens of the 33rd AD. During my 12 year term as a Trustee of the RIM of the World Unified School District, I’ve gained a clear understanding of the complexities and capacities of protecting every tax dollar.”
In his announcement Scott will speak on his plan to revitalize the infrastructure of the 33rd, how to create economically sustainable communities as well as his long term plan for the establishment of a 4-year High Desert University and medical school.
As a successful entrepreneur, having built from scratch Empire Construction, a business that thrives on building new homes in the San Bernardino Mountains, Scott will also mention how that experience will lend a hand in understanding how to match expense economics with quality infrastructure.
Quoting from his planned remarks: “My experience with the RIM District and my construction firm informs me how to devise budgets, negotiate and understand the role of leadership and the surrounding issues of accountability and transparency.”
As an advocate for the constituents of the High Desert and Mountain Communities, Scott will also address the issues of residential development in the 33rd, the need for the conservation of the Mojave aquifers and single payer healthcare. His brief talk will end with an overview of how he will create active links of communication in the 33rd between its citizens and Sacramento.
